Vacation!

It seems that Adam and I think this vacation stuff is lots of fun. Here is a look back on our two weeks out of town. (It really has taken me an entire week to finally get this posted! Its a long one so take a deep breath!)

On June 28th, Adam and I left for a family reunion with the Douglass side. We spent a few days in Kanab, waiting for the family to arrive, and then headed to a Cabin about 30 minutes north of Kanab, in Glendale, Utah. To my dismay, my sweet little camera of four years finally bit the dust. Luckily Adam has a camera for work and we have two brothers that have SWEET RIG cameras, so we got some great picts. Here is a lo-down of some really fun activities we did!
The Cabin had a really SWEET, but REALLY COLD pond. It didn't stop us! The boys spent time finding ridiculous ways of jumping in, and also great ways of sinking the "paddle boat".

Next in pond fun was fishing ... they aren't big enough to feed the fam, but we did have fun relaxing, catching and releasing the little guys!

Their was also an AWESOME zip line that flew across the pond. We spent a lot of our days going down and trying to see who could do the sweetest drops off into the pond.

We even took turns taking rides in Seans new canoe!

The kids had as much fun as the adults, having a treasure hunt, swinging on swings, and playing in the dirt. The big kids "husbands" even brought paint ball guns and came back to the cabin with many battle wounds.

Inside the cabin we spent time making good food, playing games, and even continuing on with our family tradition of dressing up each other with newspaper. The girls chose the theme of the wizard of oz, and so me, Kalie, and Inez were dressed as the scarecrow, the tin man, and dorothy. The boys usually aren't as appropriate, so adam would only let me post the picture of him from the head up. Silly guys!

The remainder of the week was spent relaxing and enjoying each other's company.

And last but not least, Bryson got to finally be with the two other cousins that were born within a few weeks of him. If you ask me ... I smell trouble!

I am sad we couldn't post all of the pictures, because there were HUNDREDS, but hopefully this will give you a small glimpse into our trip. Thanks Mika and Inez for all of your hard work in preparing this fabulous week!

Next was the fourth of july with my family. We headed up on the 3rd of July. As you can see, we don't think this kid of ours is getting enough nourishment, so we thought we should start with some solid foods!

(No, but really, if he wasn't acting interested, we wouldn't worry about it, but seeing that he stole Adam's coke from him, we thought it must be time!)
The fourth of July we spent with the Dudley's. My parents always put on a pancake breakfast our annual 4th of July breakfast.

Then we all got ready and grandma and grandpa watched the two newborns (Bryson and Addy) while we spent the afternoon at Utah lake.

My oldest Sister Tammy talked all of us Dudley girls into jumping on the tube and taking a stroll behind the boat. That was one fun scene, four mommies, 8 white legs, lauging so hard we could hardly breath. (I even think a few of us peed our pants!) It was great times to say the least!

We ended the day with take out from Cafe rio at Tiff and Devins. Devin got a new Harley! Adam and Bryson took a little stroll.

The fourth ended with a grand finally dudley family firework show. It sure was an eventful Week.
On Saturday morning, Christina Homlik called and was getting a few girls together for a quick breakfast. I haven't seen Michelle Brady and Sarah Asay in years and it was so great to get to know Jana's new fionce. Thanks for an amazing breakfast Christina and Paul!

Last but not least ... and definitely most important ... My nephew Justin was baptized! After the baptism, since everyone was there anyway ... they blessed Addy, and to finish it up, it was Jackson's birthday! It was a great day!

I'm a FINALIST!!!

I entered a contest, not thinking anything would come of it, through Creating Keepsakes Magazine called the Scrapbooker of the Year! To my Surprise they called me on June 27th and I am one of 5 finalists! I AM SO EXCITED!!! I had to enter 20 pages and write a scrapbooking article. It was a lot of work and I am so honored to have been chosen. I will attend CKU Provo (Creating Keepsakes University in Provo Utah) on August 6th. There they will announce the Winner!
Wish me luck!

PS ... Hopefully there will be a great update of this past week coming soon!

FIRSTS!!

First Fathers Day!

Thank you Daddy for being the first one to hold me.
Thank you Daddy for rocking me back to sleep each night in the hospital so mommy could sleep.
Thank you Daddy for being worthy to hold the priesthood so that I could be blessed into the church.
Thank you Daddy for being excited to see me each day, and playing with me whenever you're home.
Thank you Daddy for taking me swimming and putting up with all the accessories mommy insists on!
Thank you Daddy for helping mommy giving me my first hair cut, so I could look just like you.

Thank you Daddy for being the Best Daddy in the world. I am so glad I chose you!

First time Swimming in our pool

We took Bryson to the pool! He wasn't too sure what to think, but decided it was lots of fun!

Swimming suit (check)
Sun shirt (check)
Float Tube (check)
Sun Glasses, even though it was in the evening and we didn't need them (check)
Beach shoes, okay I know ... no sand either ... (check)
Mo-hawk with wet hair (check)
Great time! (check)

First Haircut

Bryson was born with lots of hair on the back of his head, which turned into a mullet, SO Daddy insisted that we cut it! Bryson did really good and sat really still in his bumbo chair. He has always loved his hair combed and washed ... so it didn't surprise us! And yes, in case you are wondering, those are Scrapbook scissors!

First Attempt at Adam's Birthday Cake

Each time Adam and I go to visit my parents in Orem, we always have to stop of at one of our favorite restaurants, Carabbas. We always get the BEST dessert. It is called Dessert Rosa. It doesn't look anything like it, tasted similar, but I guess we will just have to get the real deal next time we head up north.

HAPPY 29th BABE! I LOVE YA! OH Bryson and I gave him fishing stuff and a new IPOD so he can listen to music at work!

First time on the lake

The Gardners, (Adam's brother's, in-laws and the people who bought our dinner when we met ... inevitably ... the reason we met) invited us on the lake for a day on their houseboat. It was a really windy day and so we didn't do much other than visit and ride the wave runners. Anyway you have it, it was a fantastic day ... SO great to see their family and just get out of our "Dam town" for the day! Bryson didn't love the wind, or his life jacket. We could barely snap the top clip because of his chubby little cheeks, but he did seem to like the bouncing boat from the choppy waters.

First time meeting uncle Trent

Okay, so it's really not an Uncle, but it is one of Adam's best friends from High School who came to stay with us for a week. It was great to have a friend around and try to entertain. Adam and Trent got to take the Rhino to the Peria overlook.

Addy's First time to Lake Powell

Marney and Erik came down for Erik's "High School friend testosterone week outing". Marney and the boys stayed with me, and Erik went out on the boat with his friends. Because of some problems with the boat Justin and Jared got to stay with me, instead of with daddy on the beach for some of the time. Bryson LOVED having his cousins around, and I enjoyed the company of my sister. I really miss my family and so it was just what the doctor ordered! We even got to bring some dutch oven potatoes to the boys on the beach one night. It was really fun!

Last but not least
FIRST TIME finding his feet and playing with toys

Bryson finally got the Hand to eye coordination down and is starting to entertain himself! With mommy going back to work, this has become REALLY nice! He is getting so big and more and more fun! We love our little man!

Trip to Seattle

I know this surprises you that we are updating our blog more than once this month, but I figured we had all of our fun pictures from Seattle, and you all would like to see them!

We left on Thursday the 22nd from Page and drove 4 hours to Vegas, where we caught a non-stop flight to Seattle. Bryson did so well! The flight took off at 8:30 pm (which is his bed time) and he didn't make a peep for the rest of the night! (I don't know if I have mentioned, but Bryson has been sleeping through the night for almost a month now!) Adam's brother, Sean, lives in Seattle with his wife Sara and their five kids. Sean picked us up from the airport at 11:30 pm and we headed to their house in Sammamish! Boy did we sleep well that night! We were so tired from traveling.

Friday morning we woke up and hung out with Sara and the kids. It was so fun to see them! We hadn't seen them since Christmas. Sean came home from School about noon and we left the kids (other than Bryson) with a babysitter and headed for the city! Our first stop was the Space needle. It was an amazing view of Seattle.

Bryson wasn't too excited ... it was a little chilly on top. So we took him inside to make him happy. I think these are the first giggles we have heard out of him!

Following the Space needle we went to Pike Street. They were getting ready to close up for the evening, so we just walked through quickly. It still was great. Sara and I both agreed that if we lived in the city we would go and get fresh fruits, veggies, and meat there everyday!

We next walked down to the pier where we caught a water taxi and rode across Elliot Bay to an amazing restaurant called Salty's. It was really good and had a fantastic view of the Seattle skyline! We ordered fresh crab legs and steak!

Bryson slept through most of dinner, but when he smelled those crab legs he just couldn't resist!

These are some incredible photos from our trip that Sean took.

The next day we woke up at 4:30 am to catch a ferry out of Anacortes to the San Juan Islands. While on the island, we went to a park so the kids could play and have lunch, whale watching near a lighthouse, and sight seeing around the beautiful island. It was a long day but we are so glad that we went! We got pizza in Anacortes on the way home and spent the rest of the night relaxing.

Sunday was spent going to church with Sean's family, playing games, watching movies, and just hanging out.

Monday, Sara and I went to get grocery's to get some grub for a traditional Memorial Day BBQ! Sara's parents happened to come into town that day for meetings and joined us for for a few hours too. Sean took us to Snoqualmie Falls which was only about 20 minutes from their house. It was BEAUTIFUL! We finished off the night by watching National Treasure II.

We left to go home on Tuesday and didn't get to Page until 11:30 pm. We were really tired but sure had a great time. Bryson did so well considering he is only 3 1/2 months. We were so grateful. Adam and I sure enjoyed the time away together.

Douglass News

Look how big I am getting!

A lot has gone on since I posted last. It seems like we are spinning everyday. Adam has been really busy with work and I have been busy being a mommy and going back to work for American Crafts. We head out for Seattle on Thursday so I wanted to update you with a few pictures before we go and have LOTS more to post!

First, WE HAD VISITORS!!! Doug, Maria, and Everett! They moved back to Provo and stayed in Page for the night. We met them at the famous Fiesta Mexicana while they ate dinner and we got desert! Bryson was so excited to meet his new friend. I can't believe how tiny he was! SERIOUSLY one of the cutest babies I have ever seen! Thanks for stopping guys!

Adam and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary of meeting on April 30th. Most of you might think we would go back to IHOP for each anniversary, but nope, we don't have an IHOP in Page ... and even if we did ... I don't think we would go because it is DISGUSTING!!! So here's to Sterling, a gay waiter, and our families! Because of them I am married to the greatest guy in the entire world. I love you babe! Here's to many, many more years!

We also went to Kanab to help Adam's sister-in-law build her new home. Two of Adam's brothers (Jarrett & Ryan) were there two, along with his dad. We were happy to see some of the family, and help her with her new home! (Plus it is a great excuse for the guy's to "Play tools" wink wink!)

As some of you might know, I actually have a relative in Page. His name is Dennis Dudley. He was going up to Logan on Mothers Day weekend for a college reunion, and asked if I wanted to ride up to see my family. Adam had the fathers & son's camp out, (mothers day weekend ... someone wasn't thinking in that meeting) and he had a softball tournament that he really wanted to play in. SO, Bryson and I decided to surprise my mom and head up with Dennis.

We surprised the heck out of her and the family. It made for a great first mothers day for me and a wonderful surprise mothers day for my mom! Adam and I are so blessed to have wonderful mothers! We love you both very much and are so grateful for all you do for us!

My parents serve in a branch presidency at the MTC and so when Adam and I come to visit, we go to church with them. It just so happens that my sister-in-law's younger sister is in the MTC and in my dad's branch. She hadn't seen Bryson yet and so we surprised her too. It was sure great to see her! She is going to the Madrid Spain Mission.

It just happened, that a few of my mission buddies were in town that I hadn't seen in a VERY long time ... so we got together and had a little brunch. I love those girls! They made the weekend even that much better!

Bryson finally got to meet his new cousin Addyson! MAN IS SHE ADORABLE! I was so excited to finally get to hold this cutie! We are going to have to visit lots before she grows up too much! Bryson really has been putting on pounds as you can see in the picture. Addyson is so tiny, I am sure she will never catch up! He is just growing so fast!

Other than that, we don't have too much news. It seems like we are staying busy with our callings and being parents. It is getting better and better each day as Bryson develops a personality. Here are some cute picts for you to see how big he is getting!
Bryson and Daddy fall asleep on the couch almost every night! It is SO cute!

Check out how long his eyelashes are!

Bathtime! Bryson loves taking a bath!
