Trip to Seattle

I know this surprises you that we are updating our blog more than once this month, but I figured we had all of our fun pictures from Seattle, and you all would like to see them!

We left on Thursday the 22nd from Page and drove 4 hours to Vegas, where we caught a non-stop flight to Seattle. Bryson did so well! The flight took off at 8:30 pm (which is his bed time) and he didn't make a peep for the rest of the night! (I don't know if I have mentioned, but Bryson has been sleeping through the night for almost a month now!) Adam's brother, Sean, lives in Seattle with his wife Sara and their five kids. Sean picked us up from the airport at 11:30 pm and we headed to their house in Sammamish! Boy did we sleep well that night! We were so tired from traveling.

Friday morning we woke up and hung out with Sara and the kids. It was so fun to see them! We hadn't seen them since Christmas. Sean came home from School about noon and we left the kids (other than Bryson) with a babysitter and headed for the city! Our first stop was the Space needle. It was an amazing view of Seattle.

Bryson wasn't too excited ... it was a little chilly on top. So we took him inside to make him happy. I think these are the first giggles we have heard out of him!

Following the Space needle we went to Pike Street. They were getting ready to close up for the evening, so we just walked through quickly. It still was great. Sara and I both agreed that if we lived in the city we would go and get fresh fruits, veggies, and meat there everyday!

We next walked down to the pier where we caught a water taxi and rode across Elliot Bay to an amazing restaurant called Salty's. It was really good and had a fantastic view of the Seattle skyline! We ordered fresh crab legs and steak!

Bryson slept through most of dinner, but when he smelled those crab legs he just couldn't resist!

These are some incredible photos from our trip that Sean took.

The next day we woke up at 4:30 am to catch a ferry out of Anacortes to the San Juan Islands. While on the island, we went to a park so the kids could play and have lunch, whale watching near a lighthouse, and sight seeing around the beautiful island. It was a long day but we are so glad that we went! We got pizza in Anacortes on the way home and spent the rest of the night relaxing.

Sunday was spent going to church with Sean's family, playing games, watching movies, and just hanging out.

Monday, Sara and I went to get grocery's to get some grub for a traditional Memorial Day BBQ! Sara's parents happened to come into town that day for meetings and joined us for for a few hours too. Sean took us to Snoqualmie Falls which was only about 20 minutes from their house. It was BEAUTIFUL! We finished off the night by watching National Treasure II.

We left to go home on Tuesday and didn't get to Page until 11:30 pm. We were really tired but sure had a great time. Bryson did so well considering he is only 3 1/2 months. We were so grateful. Adam and I sure enjoyed the time away together.

You are so lucky its been so long since I have been up there. Jamie my childhood best friend use to live up there. She lived in Poulsbo and then moved down to Bremerton. Did you get to see the big Navel Ships? Lord they were huge! How did feel to drop under the clouds when land at Sea-Tac? I thought that was the coolest thing. Pikes Market was my favorite. I love how they throw around the fish and somewhere in the building they a jewelry place.

But anyways I hope you had a good time. Your Lucky you got to go up the needle that something I didn't do. I think there is a fountain near there. Oh yeah Ivar's mmmm good Clam Chowder I remember that.

Anyways, Miss Ya!!

Hey! Dave has an aunt and uncle that live in sammamish. They are probably in the same ward. I am glad you got to get away and have a vacation, it is so nice to spend time together with husbands that are always working!

So fun! Feel lucky that your baby was so good and take advantage of it while he is young. When they get to get older they scream for the entire trip (can you tell that I know from experience!!). I am so glad that you got to go to the San Juan Islands. Do you remember that I lived there for a summer right after high school? I love it there!! I am glad that you had such a fun time.

Love the space needle picture! You must have a pretty sweet camera.

We have stopped mentioning that Zac sleeps the night away, because people get so irritated and feel the need to tell us their sob stories about their children never sleeping blahblahblah. Too bad for them! We are loving life!

Sleeping through the night...how many hours does that mean for you?? 8:30 to when? I think we have gotten to about 6 1/2 at a time, but that is rare, but still okay. Your trip looks amazing. I've been there once, but it was really brief. I'd love to go back and go to Victoria, B.C. We did manage to spend some shopping time in Vancouver, B.C. when we went. The Northwest is so gorgeous...

Hey Mandy,

This post totally made me homesick. My family lives in Redmond - I went to high school in Sammamish (Eastlake). The Space Needle, Pike's Place, Snoqualmie Falls. Sigh :) Good thing I'm going home for a week in July! You're little baby is so cute!

You are so lucky that he sleeps so well. That is very rare that a baby would sleep 12 hours at three months old. Wow, enjoy it now and hopefully all of your kids will do that. Sounds like a fun trip and you have tons of cute pics.

Your baby is a-dorable, by the way. We sure would love one of our own. But we're definitely learning about patience! I still remember meeting you at the condo in Park City the New Year's Eve that Jeff and I started dating. So fun! Hope you guys are well!
